DD Training Centre was established on 22^nd June 2001 at Jl. Tambak by Mr. Hendi. The name DD was quoted by the establisher, Mr.Hendi, and his wife, Ms.Manda’s name. It was supposed to be DIDA or D^ND, but was cancelled after some thoughts and at last, the name DD was confirmed. The reason naming DD Training Centre this way, is because Mr. Hendi wanted to remember how he and his wife struggled during those times.

When DD Training Centre was first established, it didn’t turn out to be easy.  It wasn’t as smooth as wished. There’s only three teachers available (Mr. Hendi, Ms. Manda, Mr. Benson ) and about 60-70 students. Other than that, they also faced a lot of problems, such as financial and sources.

Three years passed, and at the year 2004, DD was moved from Jl. Tambak to Jl. Bakarbatu. The reasons why were because the previous place was too small. It’s hard to find a space for car parks and it provides no sufficient water supply. But after DD moved, not much change. The number of teachers increased to six, but there were only three classes available. It was really hard during those days, but it was finally paid off on DD’s 7^th birthday, where DD Training Centre finally started to bloom.

 

DD Training Centre is quite stable now, today. But what about the future?  Will it improve? Does Mr. Hendi have any future plans?

Mr. Hendi always wanted to have a radio station. He wanted students to give talk to everybody about a certain topic. However, due to limited space DD owned, this plan is yet coming true.

Mr. Hendi, other than radio station, also dreamt of having a library, stationary and book store, membership, a comic centre, and café for students to relax. He also wished that DD students would speak English in and outside DDTC.
